  I'm finally doing it!

  well, it's hard to believe, but i'm finally ready to go on my world travels that i've been planning for so long.

  seriously, i've been trying to get out of here since way back in my witness days, at least four or five years.

  finally, i've gotten everything lined up, all the loose ends tied - i am on my way.. i leave this thursday for my first leg: 3 months in japan!

  Blood - A Balanced View??

  i think that rather than being completely anti-blood or completely accepting of doctor's decisions it is much better to remain guarded with regard to blood transfusions.

  although i recently rescinded my no blood amd, i want to find a way to document that although i will accept blood, my preference is to first work with plasma expanders and the like.

  today a friend of mine died.

  After chatting to my GP about this subject, I was pleased to hear that doctors do not now routinely give blood. They themselves (obviously allowing for individual variabilities) now tend to only give it when no other alternatives are available.

  Is the decision to give blood to your child strictly a conscience matter?

  my wife asserts that this is the case.

  she adds that no witness is to judge another for their decision, whatever it may be.

  is this the case, and if so, does it really play out that way?.

  Watchtower Gives Up Explaining 607 BCE Date!

  this is a very important observation, that the watchtower has not tried to explain in print why 607 bce is the year for the destruction of jerusalem for the last 17 years!!!.

  all that the watchtower has done over most of the last two decades is to repeat over and over the year "607bce" in its publications as if it is an unquestioned fact!.

  the last time an explaination for the year was attempted by the watchtower was in 1988 when the "insight" volumes were published, but since then, no explaination for the validity of the year has appeared in print.. this must mean something, but what?

  WT's explanation / justification is that the Bible says Jerusalem would be devastated for 70 years, so 537 + 70 = 607.

  If you are a JW, you accept they are God's channel of communication, in which case you accept the 607 date, irrespective of what any 'worldly' scholars may produce in evidence.

  It always comes back to mind control...
